Our HIBISCUS TEA is Made from dried Hibiscus sabdariffa/Roselle calyxes.Hibiscus sabdariffa commonly known as Roselle/ Sorelle/Gongura belong to the Family Malvaceae(Yes, it belongs to the same hibiscus family). The plant has its native to west africa, And during 17th century, it slowly moved to Asia.In Tamil, it is called Pulicha keerai.In Telugu,it is called as “Gongura”

Shade dried Hibiscus flowers/Gongura/Roselle flower calyxes (Hibiscus sabdariffa)

How to use?

As a Floral tea or Tisane

  • The dried flowers can be brewed to make beautiful Hibiscus tea. Unlike the other one, Which is Hibiscus sinensis,This one ll have a Tart or Sour flavour.Hence, You can avoid adding lemon.Instead, you can add dried ginger, Any sweetner (Honey, Jaggery/Palm sugar) and mint.
  • Take some three to four pieces and pour hot water over it. 
  • Leave it for 5 mins until the infusions came out and you can serve.
  •  You can even eat the flower after infusing the tea.
  • It Il taste yum like a Mango candy.
  • You can either have it Hot or cold

As a Hair rinse

The dried flowers can be brewed to make Hair rinse.In the same way, brew some tea and use it as a hair rinse as the final step in your hair wash routine. This can add a beautiful shine to your hair!.You can leave the rinse or can wash off!!

As a facial steam

The brewed tea can also be used a facial steam before having facial or face masking. This can add a good glow to your skin

As a Face and Hair pack

The flowers can be added along with your regular hair packs. Blend the ingredients together and use it as a hair or face pack. This one flower is known for its exfoliation properties, since it is rich in AHAs and BHAs. Hence, can be used for both face as well as scalp exfoliation.. It helps in reducing pigmentation.

Jams, Pickles and chutneys

It is one of the safest herb, As the flowers of Gongura plant, It can be used for making chutneys, pickles and Jams (Recipes will be shared soon)

Note:

Twice a week is recommended. You can slowly increase the frequency to thrice. You can have it at any time of the day.Better avoid taking on empty stomach
