Vettiver roots(Chrysopogan zizanioides)
The word vettiver has its origin from the language tamil which means Vetti-Dug/ Cut , Ver-Roots. Apart from being a body coolant, this plant is planted to prevent soil erosion as the roots can bind the soil stronger. The plant resembles lemongrass and has insect repellant properties!
How to use?
Vettiver Infused water
- Take some 3 to 4 strands of vettiver roots and keep it in a mud pot/Earthen pot
- Let it infuse overnight or atleast 4 hrs and have it along with sabja seeds/Tulsi leaves /Mint leaves(optional).
- If you find it difficult to use Vettiver roots, you can tie some in a muslin cloth and put them in the pot.
- Let it infuse and have the infused water.
